Hello cheri!
Today I’d like to share some photos from my very first official family shoot.
Now, the lovely lady & sweet-cheeked child you’re seeing aren’t just any family –– they’re mine. Say hello to my cousin Carson & his mother, Karen!
Doesn’t he just melt your heart? This little man has got to be one of my all-time favorite kiddos. Wild & crazy as they come, he’ll surprise you with a smile this sweet, topped with those oh-so-doey eyes, & you’ll swear there’s a pair of wings tucked beneath his crayon-colored sweater.
But he’s not just looks, ladies. The little guy’s got a way with words, to boot. And don’t think you can pull a fast one on him, even as a 6-year-old there’s not much he misses. After my little traffic snafoo last January, I was dishing to Karen about all that had happened when Carson piped up from his car seat in the back, “Were you texting & driving?”
(For the record, I was not.)
We met at Charleston’s charming Waterfront Park, where Carson could chase pigeons, peek over the boardwalk at the not-so-distant harbor, & pump his legs on the old swinging benches. Once we finished the shoot we headed over to Basil for some of the best Thai food to be found, well, anywhere. I shoveled in the curry & coconut soup between dinosaur battles with the boy (apparently I’m bad at playing such games, go figure), & I had my first date with green tea ice cream (yes and please!) –– not to mention it was fried. All in all, it was a terrific time of fine food & family.
(Not to mention photos. But since I just did, here is a sampling of some more. Many thanks to my beautiful family for such a great shoot!)
