Today I simply wanted to share some of my favorite looks from Fashion Week thus far, featuring my two favorite clothing components: Vintage cuts & neutral color schemes. Be inspired!
VERA WANG
TIBI
DONNA KARAN
RODARTE
I’m blown away by these collections. They are each so lovely & unique –– pulling inspiration from all over the board. I loved Vera Wang’s 20s-style drop waists. The very modern pieces put out by Tibi, though they were accented with boxy 70s & 80s-style outerwear, were perfect. I also got a kick out of the tucks of color hidden beneath her nudes –– I guess not everyone can be all-neutral all the time. Of course, Donna Karan’s collection was so glamorous I could not not fall in love with it. Imagine if people still dressed so well! And finally, Rodarte. I am inspired by the creativity of this prairie-meets-modern collection. The quilt-like patches featured on several pieces appear almost tribal at first glance, but then remind me of the dutch hex squares I saw scattered throughout the barn tops of the North Carolina mountains. Such a clever collection.
